Media Transfer Protocol (commonly referred to as MTP) is part of the "Windows Media" framework and thus closely related to Windows Media Player. Windows 7 is no long supported by Microsoft. There is builtin support for the MTP protocol so please try to use it before installing this software. Drivers below are for Windows 7 and other versions of Windows. When your Android phone is in MTP mode the phone when connected via USB will see it as a media player by Windows. MTP or ( Media Transfer Protocol) is a set of custom extensions to the Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) devised by Microsoft, to allow the protocol to be used for devices other than digital cameras, for example digital audio players such as MP3 players, Android based phones, and other portable media devices, for example portable video players.
